The Batavia Depot Museum, a joint venture between the Batavia Park District and the Batavia Historical Society, is housed in an 1854 Chicago, Burlington and Quincy railroad depot, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum offers exhibits, a research center, educational programs and special events. In 2007, the museum established its Quilt & Textile Show, “Threads from Past to Present”. Over the years the show has grown in popularity and features contemporary and historic quilts completed by local artists as well as vendors, special interest displays and programs. The show is held at the Batavia Park District’s historic Shannon Hall and Eastside Community Center. The proceeds from the show benefit the museum and its collections.
